BEAK Announces 2019 Board Officers

The Bird Enjoyment and Advantage Koalition (BEAK) is pleased to announce new officers for 2019.

The executive officers of the board of directors will include:
• Chair, Brent Weinmann, President of Vitakraft SunSeed Inc.
• President, Dean Reyes, Director of Marketing & Sales, Higgins Premium Pet Foods
• Secretary, Mary Wyld, Owner of Wyld’s Wingdom
• Treasurer, Sue Brown, Senior VP Sales and Marketing, F.M. Brown’s Sons, Inc.

“Our board members bring tremendous leadership and experience to the table and we are fortunate to have their involvement as we continue to educate on responsible bird ownership and support the integration of birds into families,” said Brent Weinmann, Board Chair.

Founded in 2016, the Bird Enjoyment and Advantage Koalition (BEAK) consists of bird product manufacturers, associations and caregivers with shared interests and works to address the need for increased, responsible bird ownership. BEAK’s mission is to conduct research, identify existing resources, opportunities and challenges, and educate and drive awareness of the benefits of bird ownership through strategic communications, marketing, collaborations and initiatives. BEAK’s consumer-facing campaign, MyBird, hosts a fun, interactive bird quiz on the website www.MyRightBird.com that matches people up with the right bird for their lifestyle. The educational website also offers a user-friendly bird locator and avian veterinarian locator.
