Titmice inhabit deciduous woods, suburbs with shade trees, and swamps. Mature mixed oak woodlands are highly desired habitats.
Titmice eat insects, including cocoons found among dead leaves, seeds, and berries. In the winter they eat seeds and fruit including acorns, sumac, beechnuts, and cherries.
Hanging Feeders and Suet Feeders
The bulk of their winter diet is acorns and beechnuts. They will even store seeds in tree holes for later consumption. The northerly expansion of its range is due to regular visits to feeders, taking one seed at a time by habit. Titmice are a member of the Chickadee family.
Stripe Sunflower, Mealworms, Oil Sunflower Seeds, Oil Sunflower Hearts and Chips, Suet, Roasted Peanut Chips, Cracked Nuts, Safflower Seeds, Nyjer (Thistle Seed), and White Millet.
